HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE PILOT? (click here)
NOTE FROM THE PILOT:
The population of the Mulchatna Caribou Herd is steady at 45,000. This is the core of the herd we have been hunting for years. I have noticed the last few years fewer "trophy" bulls. This last season, (Fall 2009), Every group had a harder time getting there bag limit. With the warmer temps this last season the caribou didn't move around much. Finding the BIG bulls doesn't seem to be getting any easier. Some nice bulls are there, just harder to get to it seems. Hope this helps with your planning, Tim Pope, Chief Pilot

I will be on Vacation from October 1 till October 18. Natron Air will be closed during that time. The Hunting On Montague Island is usually better after mid October which is why we chose those dates to be gone. Tim & Janet
Montague Island Deer Hunts | $950/person Oct. 1 - December 31 (Unit 6D) One of the most popular places for deer hunts. This is a fun and easy hunt, lots of deer. We drop off at San Juan Bay, Beach River, Log Jam Bay, and Jeanie Cove. Their are Cabins you can rent at San Juan Bay, Beach River, and Log Jam Bay, http://www.recreation.gov/ Jeanie Cove you will need to bring shelter. Due to the shortness of days look at Cordova tides carefully after Thanksgiving. We do hunts in December but weather, tides, and lack of daylight can really change plans. Price includes transportation to/from the Island with a 125 pounds of gear per hunter. NOTE FROM THE PILOT: The Deer population on this Island is stable. 2009 Was a great year for the hunters. We started in October and everyone saw deer but before the first snow I was told the deer were a little skiddish. The first snow happened early November and then the hunting was awsome clear till the last hunt that came home January 1st. The weather at times can be unfavorable, so be prepared for that. Tim
